Final success for WOM CILACAP 3# builer alkaline washing
On October 8th, WOM CILACAP project Unit 3 boiler alkaline washing has been finished as planned, which created favorable conditions for boiler acid washing and unit ignition and flushing. This alkaline washing has begun from 8:00 on October 7th, totally cost 32 hours. Before start, commissioning company combined with WOM operators held a technical safety explanation conference about boiler system chemical washing. During the conference, the responsibility of each party has been definite. Then WOM operators worked without relaxation, cooperated with commissioning company to confirm every valve and measuring point, and started dosing for alkaline washing at 22:00 on that night. In order to overcome difficulties of high-temperature weather and make sure unit 3 boiler system alkaline washing can be finished as planned, project manager Liu zhigang arranged in advance. Boiler engineer Yao xingling kept an eye on local site every day, arranged shifts and followed whole procedures of system washing just to make sure all problems can be solved in time. With the active cooperation of operators from each profession and commissioning company, unit 3 boiler alkaline washing could be guaranteed with final success.

Better work during the National Day in WOM Indian project
Unit #2 in TPCIL, Krishnapatam, India, was started once again with defects attended and synchronized successfully at 20:30 local time on September 29, marking final stage of RT and significant progress since the unit passed COD on September 13. During Unit #2 trial run of RT, most staff members in project department returned to China for renewing visa. In order to achieve passing of RT and move forward, staff on duty at site made every effort and worked double shifts to supervise operation in cooperation with commissioning department so as to ensure unit was running in a safe and sound manner. In this way, project department commemorated the 66th anniversary of founding of the People’s Republic of China, which falls on October 1.

One more batch of operation staff obtain certificate of special operations
With more attention attached to safety of dangerous chemicals, only those passing the examination may hold their posts, and in order to strengthen technical knowledge, 17 staff members with Xinji project company and Pingshan chemistry department attended relevant training and obtained certificate of special operations on synthetic ammonia in Huaihai safety training center, Huaibei, East China’s Anhui province from September 23 to 25. The training spanned three days and lectured by professional teachers. Examination paper was selected on a random basis from computer and each one was different, which was scored upon handing in it. During these days boiler #1 alkaline cleaning and water flushing were underway in Pingshan Power Ltd, which placed heavy work on water treatment. Trainees overcame difficulties to attend class by day and work by night. Eventually, they generated excellent results that everyone passed examination in one attempt.

Project department occupied in attending defects
WOM Hwasu project company performed planned outage of unit #1 to attend defects in a comprehensive way. It aimed at handling the following issues, low vacuum in condenser, loose terminal box of 10KV motor, and dirty filter and inner leak valve in BOP etc. Maintenance department made efforts to clean filler in chilled water tower and MCC cabinet, fill condenser with water to check leakage, repair inner leak valve and bearing #6 in turbine-generator(TG), conduct anti-corrosive treatment for FGD and inner inspection of furnace, and tighten terminal box of 10KV motor etc. in orderly manner so as to ensure safe operation of unit during summer peak.

Good score achieved in Turkish project department
The first record, which shows there has been no abnormal shutdown for one hundred days in unit #2 of 600MW, ICDAS, by 6th February, is made in WOM Turkish project department. This great achievement is attributed to hard-working staff in project department, and they are brave to face challenges, move forward and never give up. 29th October last year unit #2 was shutdown by manual mistake, which nearly caused termination of contract. Under the circumstances, project head had courage and led staff to overcome difficulties. They worked out new plan, paid special attention to work system, like work permit and checklist, punished violations more severely, and took more focused and practical measures to raise the awareness of safety. Through theses efforts, great score is achieved and project department obtains the recognition and praise from the owner. WOM Turkish project department will continue to work earnestly, advance bravely and make good preparation for the renewal of 6+6 contract. More contacts and communications will be made with the owner, Sinosteel Corporation and Power Construction Corporation of Heilongjiang to have better cooperation with them so as to make more contributions to the development of company in Turkey.
