Success for WOM Maanshan#2 HPALP Cylinder Closure

        At 16:10 on Nov 2, with the whole efforts of WOM, the Wenergy anshan company has gained success on the #2 HP&LP cylinder closure. This means the maintenance work of Turbine major parts is close to finale.
        The cylinder dismantling of turbine is the main work of 201A-class maintenance. The closure for HP&LP cylinder requires high technique and tense precision, which is the most difficult part of the maintenance. In order to ensure the success, WOM-Maanshan project staff has made plans and arrangement in advance. With the cooperation of other companies, by optimizing the construction schemes and creating advantageous conditions, when the problems found, we communicate with manufacturers to get material information. With the reasonable construction scheme, the problems can be solved immediately. On the other hand, by taking advantages of all resources, day and night shifts, every minute counts, the project progress is put forward orderly. The critical data is measured again and again. Meeting for discussing the technique and schemes for cylinder closure regulates the details and cleaning. All above ensure the success of cylinder closure.
        The cylinder closure work has a clear division of responsibilities and orderly command. Working staff wear special protective clothes to check cylinder inside carefully t and get rid of dust with cleaner. Then purge by compressed air, inspect with endoscope to make sure there is no dirty things inside. The management staff supervised strictly on safety and quality. Each step has been carefully supervised. At 9:30 am on Nov 1, the #2 platform, the cylinder closure work began. The commanders checked and organized every detail again, staff on the cylinder prepared equipment and tools before hoisting. The spot was on busy and orderly condition.
        Installing for down carrier, gland sealing, bearing push, HP rotor placing, top carrier, gimbal ring placing, top inner cylinder placing, bolt fastening and insert large screw for outer cylinder, the total process cost 13 hours. At 15:30 on Nov 2, the outer cylinder closure started. The outer cylinder was hoisted by crane slowly. Maintenance staff purged and painted with heat-resisting grease, after being sure everything right, under the command, the crane driver dropped the huge cylinder. Then maintenance staff adjusted the clearance again and again. By measuring the surface, make sure the drop was vertical. With the whole efforts of all, after 40-minute tense working, the outer cylinder was finally successfully closed.
